Germany is facing major challenges. On the one hand, climate change, demographic change and the resulting threat of labour and skills shortages, as well as geopolitical tensions disrupting energy supplies and global supply chains are impacting Germany. On the other hand, sustainable, long-term economic growth and rising prosperity are sought. But how can these things be brought into balance? Can the German economy continue to grow in the future and if so how? What role do the production factors labour, (human) capital and technological progress play in this? But how are long-term economic growth and prosperity related? How can prosperity be measured and how can it continue to increase under the given framework conditions?
