<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><italic>Pestalotiopsis</italic> sp. is a mycoparasite of the plant pathogen <italic>Aecidium wenshanense</italic>. To further understand the mycoparasitism mechanism of <italic>Pestalotiopsis</italic> sp., we assembled and analyzed its genome. The genome of <italic>Pestalotiopsis</italic> sp. strain PG52 was assembled into 335 scaffolds and had a size of 58.01 Mb. A total of 20,023 predicted genes and proteins were annotated. This study compared PG52 with the mycoparasites <italic>Trichoderma harzianum</italic>, <italic>Trichoderma atroviride</italic>, and <italic>Trichoderma virens</italic>. This study reveals the entirely different mycoparasitism mechanism of <italic>Pestalotiopsis</italic> compared to <italic>Trichoderma</italic> and reveals this mycoparasite’s strong ability to produce secondary metabolites.</p></abstract>
